Mumbai: Shiv Sena demanded State Government to remove loudspeakers from Mumbai mosques first if the law enforcers are too keen on curbing Noise pollution in the city. Police filed case against Shiv Sena leaders for violating silence zone norms at Shivaji Park during its Dussehra rally on October 17.

In a city such as Mumbai, noise pollution occurs not because of the Sena rally alone. Speakers keep blaring in Bhendi Bazar and Behram Pada, disturbing Mumbaikars’ early morning sleep, Action should be taken against them too”, demanded Shivsena  in it’s Mouthpiece Saamna.

Saamna has also targeted anti-noise activist Sumaira Abdulali for submitting her noise-level mapping reports to the police. “Why hasn’t she filed complaints against the mosques? She was sitting at Shivaji Park and mapping the noise level, but the device to measure our voice level is yet to be discovered,” said the editorial.
