Beware of Burqa clad children snatchers
Nampally police are investigating the kidnap of an 11-month-old boy who was stolen from Niloufer Hospital on Monday evening.
According to police, the boy has been identified as Ajay, son of Venkat and Suneeta.
The parents told the police that a burkha-clad woman had befriended them after they admitted the boy to hospital for treatment. The woman is believed to have told the couple that she would give the boy some milk and vanished. Police confirmed the parent’s suspicion that the boy was kidnapped after viewing CCTV footage.
The kidnap of the boy follows a similar incident in which a month-old boy was stolen from the same hospital on August 17th. A 3-day old girl was kidnapped in January.
In 2006, a 20-day-old girl was stolen from the neo-natal ward of the hospital.
Police have started investigations and are trying to trace the boy and the kidnappers.
