 K.R.Santhosh (45) of Kalarikkal, Kummanam PO, Kottayam is a regular pilgrim to Sabarimala. He has worn the Maala this time also. But he will not be able to make it to the Mala because he is in hospital. Diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, he has been admitted into a hospital for a costly operation which alone can save him. A manual labourer, he had endeared himself to everyone with his humble ways and this prompted the Ayyappa bhakthas of his area to help him in his distress.

Santhosh is married to a Muslim and this brought on alienation from that community to the couple. His only son is a brilliant student and was doing the BBA, but had to finally give it up last year after the father fell ill three years ago. The family had to sell their house and now lives in a rented house, and they are still debt-ridden. They do not have anything at all to make both ends meet.

The surgery is costly. Though we are trying to have it done cheap, or even free, financial precautions are to be taken because the patient’s situation is critical. We therefore request all Ayyappa bhakthas to help the family financially in this their hour of need.
