Why PAC and no JPC – The cat is out of the bag

via Dr Mrs Hilda Raja published on January 4, 2011

The cat is out of the bag.Pranab Mukherjee says that no minister can appear before any committee and only the other day he wanted to know why the NDA is adamant on the JPC -he has given the reason. The PAC cannot probe any minister and even though the PM has offered there will be constitutional hurdles. So the JPC must be constituted becase it is constitutionally empowered to quizz the ministers and here the needle of supsision points to Adhimuthu Raja.

Now let the Congress tell us why they are objecting to the JPC which has powers and also it is not establishing a precedent. If the answer is of what use then the same could be siad of the CBI probes-how many cases has the CBI successfully probed and caught the culprit in its net?So let the JPC also function-if not properly let it do its improper tasks-after all the SC has accepted that it had violated citizens rights during the regime of the Congress under the Emergency-so what is lost.Under the Congress the rule of the law is defied. But the adamancy of the Congress against the JPC shows clearly thatr has something and somebody to hide.

It is the duty of the UPA to see that Parliament functions and towards that it is obligated to yield to the JPC-nothing unfair and nothing unconstitutional is demanded.Lets have the JPC or no government at all.Ther Congress is trying its old trick to divide the Opposition
