’15,000 from Himachal to join National Integrity March at Srinagar’

Shimla (Jan 6): Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the frontal youth organisation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will hold the “National Integrity March’ from January 12, 2011 to January 26 from West Bengal to Kashmir and unfurl the national Flag at Lal Chowk in Kashmir on the Republic Day, January 26, 2011.

State president of BJYM, Narender Atri while addressing a press conference here said that Yuva Morcha will mobilise about 15,000 people from Himachal Pradesh to lodge protest at Lal Chowk in Kashmir on January 26 to unfurl the Tricolor there.

Atri said that national president of BJP, Nitin Gadkari will flag off the march from Kolkata in West Bengal on January 12 that will pass through states like Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal and will culminate with a big rally of youth at Lal Chowk in Kashmir.

He said that activists of the Morcha are not scared of any threats by separatists and will march to Kashmir without any fear of life to save the unity and integrity of the country. Atri said: “BJYM has formed committees for ensuring mobilisation of youth from across the country to take part in this march. In Himachal also, district incharges have been appointed to look into the affairs.”

Anguished with the remarks of J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah that BJP would not be allowed to unfurl the national flag at Lal chowk on January 26, activists of BJYM today burnt an effigy of the chief minister at Gandhi chowk today. Led by their district level leaders, they also held a demonstration at the Gandhi chowk and raised anti-Omar Abdullah slogans.
