TN Govt does a ‘Sibal’ on farmer suicides
As per National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, 1060 farmers have committed suicide in Tamil Nadu, but the State Govt’s Agro Minister Veerpandi Arumugham has ‘categorically denied’ this and claims no farmer in TN committed suicide during the year.
And over the period 2005-2009 only a total of THREE farmers committed suicide as against 3737 reported by NCRB.
As per Minister Veerpandi, no farmer suicides could have taken place in Tamil Nadu, since the DMK has been giving “loans at subsidized rates and also compensating farmers for any crop loss.â€
The DMK being composed of purely philanthropic, atheistically spiritual, incorruptible types (like Andiputty Raja and Co.) every single paise reached the Target Farmers, and no farmer shed a tear, let alone his life due to farming causes. Surfeit of money; nothing to spend it on; boredom may have led to non-occupational, “personal” suicides.
Wrong play.
Now if only the RTI activist had “ascertained” that 90% of the suicide farmers were christians and muhammedans, the whole world, including our Media, would have gone ballistic.
Spectrum and JPC could have been shoved under the floorboards.
Both Sonia and Curunanidhi could have diverted like maybe Five Lakh Crore Rupees in the name of the Father & Son, & the Holy Ghost, and Allah-hu-hugbare.
Thanks to TNIE for front-paging this item – but their investigation is incomplete.
We hope other newspapers and Tveestrippers take a break from Binayak, and start their crusade-jihad from this new Angle.
