Elite of Tamilnadu for financial help to Kailash yatris vis-Ã -vis Haj pilgrims
Sekkizhar is a poet who wrote Periyapuraanam, the biography of 63 Nayanmars who were Shiva Bhakthas. The educational body named after Sekkizhar is run by eminent educationist and Siva Bhakthas as “Sekkizhar educational and cultural associationâ€, Tamilnadu. Recently they conducted the 4th Regional Educational and Cultural Conference at Chidambaram. In one of the resolutions passed, they insisted the Tamilnadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to come out with a statement announcing financial help for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra in the same manner as financial assistance given to Haj Pilgrims. They pointed out that the Ban on such help has been removed by a recent order of the Supreme Court. They also insisted that the Chief Minister should come out with the statement favouring Hindus before election procedure begins. The State is on the verge of going to polls for the State Legislative Assembly. This demand by a well known public body is something unique.
