If Hindus have no feeling for their temples, they deserve to be demolished and vandalised.
Remember me dearies how I had to fight the Chennai Corporation from demolishing a Balaji temple? Remember how Jayalalithaa demolished over 250 temples in southern TN in 2004? Remember how while I could save the Balaji Temple over 250 other street temples were demolished without notice and by falsely claiming that they were acting as per Supreme Court orders?
Now a church was built on TN government land (Housing Board land to be precise). When government sent the corporation to clear its land of what was brazen land-grabbing and encroachment, the Christians were on the streets protesting and preventing the demolition. They said they didn’t want the church to be demolished because they were going to the courts with the case.
The case came up for hearing before justice Elipe Dharma Rao and justice Venugopal in the second court.
Elipe has given the church an interim order favoring it and recommended that the church pay the government the correct price of land and regularise the land grabbing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The same Elipe who told me in open court – it is easier to remove fish stalls than it is to remove temples.
Now give me one good reason why I should not suspect the worst?
I went on bended knees with Hindu organizations to take to the streets to stop the demolition of street temples but no one turned up. We couldn’t save any of the temples but look how the Christians have saved the only church that was threatened with demolition. And that too unlike street temples which did not harm anyone, posed no hurdle, this blighted thing was brazenly constructed on government land.
If Hindus have no feeling for their temples, they deserve to be demolished and vandalised.
