“Get out of the country, If you cannot respect Bhagvad Gita” – Kudos to Bold Karnataka Minister

Bangalore: Karnataka Education Minister and BJP leader Vishveshwar Kaggeri lashed out those who are trying to create unnecessary controversies over Bhagvad Gita classes conducted in Schools.

Muslim, Christian groups came out protesting against this so called ‘Saffronisation’ of education by ‘Hindutva’ elements. Minister Kageri lashed out against them and told “Only those who want to promote religious ideologies of foreign countries are protesting the Bhagwad Gita classes… If they want to promote their ideologies, they have no place in this country… They should leave,” Said Kageri.

Kaggeri has said the programme is not compulsory for all students. “Our circular only says that the programme is good and schools can cooperate. We are not funding it in any way,’’ he said.Started as a private initiative of the Swarnavalli Mutt in 2007 the ‘teach Bhagavad Gita programme’ got regularised following endorsement by the state government.

The state minorities association has approached the High Court over the issue.

In coming days we can expect media pundits and self appointed saviours of so called minorities coming out for the blood of Vishveswar Kageri for defending the right of Hindus to learn their religous scripture.

If the minorities cannot coexist with Hindus, Government should first demolish various statues of Jesus and Mary erected infront of Christian schools, Should first stop the financial support extended to Muslim educational institutions and Madrassas. Learn to live in co-existence and try to respect the faith and feelings of majority Hindus before screaming from roof top about the virtues of secularism.
