Wipe the Shoes and promote Khadi – Congress’s new slogan
For Congress leaders, Gandhiji and spun cotton and charkha are all means to get votes. Just like they misuse Gandhi name (read Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi…)to take credit as Gandhi’s descendents, they use Cotton dresses to fool common man in India. The reality is that they do not have any respect to either Gandhi or Cotton.
This is exposed when Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh used the spun cotton shawl presented to him as a symbol of simplicity, to clean up his shoes in a large public gathering. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was also present in the function in Bikaner district.
The cotton garlands were offered to Ramesh by Congress office-bearers Rameshwar Dudi and Rampyari Vishnoi. When the minister was sitting in a chair, he kept the garland on a table and then he took it out to clean his shoe.
BJP reacted strongly and criticized ministers act and demanded public apology from both Jairam and Ashok Gehlot. It is an insult to Gandhi, all Gandhians and to the nation. Congress leaders, ministers and chief ministers talk about Gandhism and Khadi, but they insult it openlyâ€.
