Mullah Periyar Row – an oppurtunity for Secular Action

The Dam may be blown up any day now – the blame can be put squarely on any one of the dozens of Secular, Linguistic, religious-communal forces and their very well-entrenched, well-trained and Immaculately-funded Organisations.

So what? A few hundred-thousand people will die, and there may even be many non-Hindus among them. But a new dam will be built, upstream, downstream or in My Ladye’s chamber in around twenty years, and 60-40 Profits assured.

Secular forces have seized the Time and the Tide to beat up Sabarimala Pilgrims, burn their vehicles and perhaps abolish the Pilgrimage altogether which would be a Major Triumph for Indian Secularism.

Moot question – whether they will plant the Cross of Rome, Syria, the Coo-nun Cross or the Chand Tara on the remaining Sabarimala Properties. Has some Concensus been reached?
