Uthishta Seva Puraskar to Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission, Attapadi
As part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations, Uthishta – a Bangalore based social service group – is organizing an evening of Satsang and Spiritual Wisdom on November 13th. The program which is titled as “Vande Vivekanandam” will be graced by Pujya Sri Sri Ravishankarji. This year’s Uthishta Seva Puraskar will also be presented at this function.
Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission, Attapadi, Palakkad is to receive this year’s Puraskar. The award which consists of a shield, citation and Rs 100,001 is meant for organizations making outstanding contributions in the field of social service. The activities of SVMM include a hospital, school, mobile medical units and self help groups for women in the most backward tribal areas of Attapadi. Currently they are in the process of constructing a new hospital building. Last year’s Seva Puraskar was presented to Agasthyar Bala Samskara Kendra of Trivandrum by the former captain of Indian Cricket team Sri Rahul Dravid.
