Want to see Modi as PM, says ex-CJI VR Krishna Iyer

Retired Supreme Court judge, Justice VR Krishna Iyer, on Sunday said that he wants to see BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as country’s Prime Minister.

“What impressed me about Modi is that he is not a corrupt leader”, Iyer said at a book launch event in Kochi.

One of the oldest judges in the country, Krishna Iyer has previously served as Home Minister in the left front Government in Kerala. Iyer had contested and won as an independent candidate.

“Gujarat has set an example to the whole country with the successfully implemented solar project and liquor-ban”, he added.

VR Krishna Iyer released a biography of Modi, written by journalist Murali Parappuram, at the function.

“It is very important for the nation to have Modi as its Prime Minister. He is very capable”, Iyer said.
