         The BJP Parliamentary Board on Friday declared Narendra Modi as party’s Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 general election.
BJP president Rajnath Singh made the much awaited declaration at a crowded Press Conference at 11, Ashoka Road, the party’s central office, in the presence of galaxy of party workers and cadre.
Accepting party’s decision, Modi said,â€I have served BJP as a worker for many years to the best of my ability.â€
“The BJP Central leadership has entrusted a person like me who come from a very humble background. With this big responsibility, I assure everyone that I will leave no stone upturned for the achievement of the goal. On this occasion I seek the blessings of my fellow countrymen that may we see bright future for the BJP,†he said.
Modi also thanked media for its contribution in bringing out the issues that have been raging the country including corruption, inflation and nay other issues.
As Rajnath declared Modi’s name for the top post, a wave of jubilation has spread in the party cadre.
The announcement was made following a hectic activity to evolve a consensus on Modi’s name.
The move to formally announce Modi as BJP’s Prime Ministerial face gained momentum after the go-ahead given by RSS last week.
I bow to the Karyakartas of the Party & assure that I will leave no stone unturned in working for a BJP victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
On the evening of Friday 13th September 2013 the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board announced that Shri Narendra Modi would be the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, which are scheduled for 2014.
