Opinion poll predicts huge gains for BJP in UP, Bihar.
Compared to its poll conducted in January, the BJP is shown to have gained another five seats in Uttar Pradesh. The party is predicted to lead in all five zones of the state.
The ruling Samajwadi Party is likely to get 14 seats, and Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party 13, the poll said.
The Congress in alliance with RLD may win 11 seats and on its own can win only 7 — either way a huge slide from its current strength of 21.
The AAP will get just one seat. In the poll conducted in January, the AAP was projected to win 2 seats.
Predicting 21 seats for the saffron party in adjoining Bihar, the poll said the ruling Janata Dal (United) tally would come down from its present strength of 19 seats to 9.
Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal is predicted to win 5 seats and Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party will win one. In the hypothetical scenario of an alliance with RJD and LJP, the Congress can get 14 seats, the poll further said.
The opinion poll was conducted by ABP News-Nielsen in 20 parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh on February 4, 2014 to February 15, 2014, with 4,537 respondents.
In Bihar, the poll was conducted with 2,272 respondents across 10 constituencies.
