The Q Branch of Tamil Nadu has taken into custody the gang of Jihadi youths who posed for a photograph wearing T shirts that declare support for the Iraqi terror group ISIS. The photograph went viral on social networking sites. The gang consisting of 26 youths, hailing from Ramanathapuram, is now being interrogated by the Q branch.

The Jihadis, supposedly seeking ways of making an escape, are reported to have told the Q Branch that the photo, along with T shirts declaring support for ISIS, was in response to the ISIS gesture of freeing Indian nurses. The interrogative team has however, not lent credence to the response.

“The youths are under stringent scanner. Their background is also being probed into, in length. The photograph was taken on Ramzan day, in front of a mosque in Ramanathapuram. Around 100 T shirts were purchased from a garment unit in Kader Pettai, Tirupur, for this purpose. The photo, however, was posted from abroad, with the person who posted it having gone abroad,” said an official of the investigation team.Officials said the picture had been withdrawn from the social networking site now.
