Love Jihad Again: Muslim Guy Masquerades as Hindu and Ensnares Girl

Thrissur: In yet another case of Love Jihad, a Muslim masquerading as Hindu has managed to beguile romance and ensnare a Hindu girl. Going by the name of Arun Menon, the man is said to have romanced the girl for over a year and married her. His Jihadi identity was revealed 6 months later, which has left the girl, a music teacher and student of Kerala Kalamandalam, in a state of shock.

According to sources, the man who assumed Hindu identity for apparently deceitful purposes is a native of Chavakkad. “Naufal was married before and has two children from his previous wife, who is his legally wedded wife. After marrying the Hindu girl, there used to be shady phone calls which aroused the girl’s suspicion. This made her
trace the calls, which gave her a rude shock as the caller was Naufal’s wife,” revealed sources.

According to the victim, the wedding took place on 27 March, but without the groom’s parents. The reason given was that the parents were disappointed, owing to disparity of caste. “Even though I came to know that the lady calling him was his wife, I chose not to believe it. However, while cleaning the house, I chanced upon his identity card, which bore his true identity- his name and real address,” the girl is said to have confided to sources.

Upon knowing his true identity, the girl’s brothers swung into action and made an inquiry at the tourist home where he was working. More details sprung up and the man’s identity as a Jihadi was confirmed. The girl is said to have revealed in a press conference that she “realized that she is a victim of Love Jihad, about which she has
heard hitherto from various forms of media, but never expected to happen to her.”
