Crorepati Candidates for Aam Admi;Nine crorepatis in AAP list of 18.

Of just 18 Aam Aadmi Party affidavits that have been uploaded on the Delhi Election Commission site so far, nine candidates have declared assets worth over a crore. These figures include the value of moveable assets such as jewellery, cash and motor vehicles as well as immoveable assets such as land.
Of the nine crorepati candidates, former mediaperson Shazia Ilmi has declared the highest figure, with assets belonging to her and her husband Sajir Siraj Malik totalling upwards of Rs 30 crore. Ilmi, who worked as a television news anchor, is the candidate from the RK Puram constituency. The seat is currently held by Barkha Singh of the Congress.
Deshraj Raghav, whose candidature has been mired in controversy, has also declared assets over Rs 12 crore. Raghav’s announcement as AAP candidate from the Uttam Nagar seat was met with protests from local volunteers of the party.
The others that make the crorepati list include Baljit Singh Mann (agriculture) from the Narela seat with assets of Rs 8.67 crore, Girish Soni from Madipur (leather business) at Rs 1.25 crore, Prit Pal Singh (self-employed) of Rajouri Garden at Rs 1.7 crore, Jarnail Singh (business) from Tilak Nagar at Rs 1.7 crore, Mahinder Yadav (self-employed) of Vikaspuri at Rs 1.57 crore, Narender Singh Sejwal (business) of Mehrauli at Rs 3.07 crore and Dharambir Singh (advocate) from Kalkaji seat at Rs 1.04 crore.
