Complaint against Crew of PK for Portraying Hindu Gods in Dismal Light
The Delhi section of Hindu Legal Cell has filed a complaint against Rajkumar Hirani, director of movie PK for portraying Hindu deity Lord Shiva in abysmal and degrading light. The complaint states that the intention of the movie was to show disrespect towards Hindu gods and religion and has sought levying of charges for provoking communal disharmony. The movie allegedly shows Lord Shiva being chased by Aamir Khan.
The letter written by Prashant Patel, Secretary of Hindu Legal Cell, New Delhi has registered the complaint against director (Raj Kumar Hirani), producers (Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur) and actor (Aamir Khan) “of film PK for disrespecting Lord Shiv and hurting Hindu sentimentsâ€. The complaint has been directed to the Station Head Officer of Thane Amar colony, New Delhi.
The letter states that the movie released on 19 December 2014 portays Lord Shiv dismally. “In this film many comments are made on rituals of Hindu Dharm†and has “dialogues of ridicule like “Jo darta hai, who mandir jata haiâ€. This, states the letter “hurts believers of Hinduismâ€.
The complaint further states that “the intention of the film was to show disrespect towards Hindu gods and temples, which may cause religious disharmonyâ€. The complainant has urged initiation of legal action against movie director, producers and actor for “provoking communal disharmony and creating an atmosphere which is harmful for peace of society†under Section 153A of IPC “to prevent any communal disturbances in the countryâ€.
