Kerala Chief Secretary Breeched Official Rules & Regulations – Kummanam

published on December 1, 2015

Kottayam: Hindu Aikya Vedi state general secretary Kummanam Rajashekharan has sought immediate action and suspension against state chief secretary Jiji Thomson, who made a clarion call for evangelization of Kerala society, thereby breaching official rules and regulations. It is breach of constitutional laws, when a government servant suddenly transforms himself into the messenger of a particular religion and issues exhortations seeking complete evangelization by converting people of other religions to Christianity, said Kummanam.

Calling for immediate and comprehensive action against Jiji Thomson, Kummanam said that the chief secretary’s statement “came at a time when MPs in the Parliament, on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr BR Ambedkar, were conducting heated debates about upholding the lofty values specified in the Indian of the Constitution.”

“The person who should be taking upon himself the task of guarding the Constitution has resorted to deliberate floundering of rules, publicly. A similar instance took place in Tamil Nadu, where the state government took stringent action against an IAS officer Uma Shankar,” said Kummanam.

Exposing the agenda of the Christian church in evangelization, Kummanam said that those who make public proclamations of the same, are the ones who ensure that the agenda of the church is well executed. “Such tendencies cannot be tolerated in Bharat, a nation known for its diversity, religious harmony and freedom, along with its multiple voices that sing in unison. The chief secretary has taken a dangerous stand of propagating fundamentalism and intolerance,” said Kummanam.

Those who made a furor when people who decided to return to their Hindu faith, after having once gone astray, are now silent when their own people have given an open call for evangelization. Didn’t home minister Ramesh Chennithala say that any ghar wapsi ceremony would be followed by an arrest? There were a whole lot of intellectuals who had screamed their protest aloud, who are silent today. Doesn’t that expose their partiality and appeasement policy clear?
