Delink Religion from Minority Tag

via GSK Menon published on September 5, 2015

The Census data has to be taken with a pinch of salt. As part of a well schemed plan, converts are being forced to retain their Hindu names and caste identities. These converts would have been tutored to mislead the Census staff. The entire North East is Christian converted. Missionary gangs are hyperactive in Arunachal Pradesh. The Cow Belt is being targeted by scores of Missionary groups. In fact conversions in Bihar are a great source of worry. Ghar Wapsi needs to be intensified here. Tamilnadu is another State of Concern, as most SC/ST communities have been mislead into converting, yet retaining their caste identities.

The Census would give a different picture if State and region wise statistics are made available. The Government should widen the term Minority to encompass all types of groups living in a geographical area. North East would be Christian majority, Kashmir Muslim majority, Punjab Sikh majority. So how can Hindus be called majority ? Delink religious identity from Minority tag, bring in a wider concept of Geographical area profiles on the basis of caste/language/ etc. This will bring mixed groupings and give everybody a chance to be called Minority and get various special benefits and privileges associated with being a Minority in India.
