ISIS in India: The First FIR Filed in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has filed its first FIR in connection with the various recruitment taking place in the state for the dreaded Islamic militant outfit ISIS. The FIR has been registered by Karipur police against Riyad, a native of Kundungal, Kozhikode an ISIS associate based in UAE. Riyad who is suspected to be in Syria currently, has been organizing his recruitment via social media.
Recently four persons suspected to be associated with ISIS were interrogated by Intelligence agencies. The FIR has been registered in connection with the inputs provided by these people. Out of those interrogated one happens to be Riyad’s brother.
Indians are being used by the terror group for promoting their fanatical ideology. Many Indians including Malayalis were expelled from gulf countries followings suspicions of links with ISIS. But this is the first time a case is being registered in Kerala in connection with this.
Intelligence sources have gathered that Riyad is in Syria.
