Hindu munnani demands recovery of temple lands
The Tamil Nadu Hindu Munnani founder Mr Ramagopalan has asked the Chennai government to bring out a white paper on the steps it has taken to recover the temple lands during the last four and a half years, according to a report.
Reacting to the Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa’s recent announcement that her government would provide assistance to retrieve the lost WAKF lands in the state, Mr Ramagopalan asked the state government to show the same interest in recovering the temple lands also.
He alleged that about six lakh hectares of temple land were in the hands of encroachers and the government had not done anything to retrieve it.
