Two Swayamsevaks honoured with Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Puraskar

Two senior RSS Swayamsevaks from Andhra Pradesh, Shri Piratala Venkateshvarulu and Dr P. Jairam, have been honoured with the Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Puraskar in New Delhi on November 19 for their outstanding social services. Shri Venkateshvarulu has been Sangh Pracharak for many years and had also been general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for several years. Presently he is chief editor of Krishna Patrika, a 105-year-old Tulugu newspaper from Hyderabad. Dr Jairam had been RSS Sanghchalak in Poorva Andhra Pradesh and presently is Sampark Pramukh. He runs a nursing home at Jaggyapet. He mostly renders medical services in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh. Both the Swayamsevaks are third-year OTC trained. The award is given by the Global Economic Council, New Delhi, to honour various people rendering outstanding social services in different fields of social life. This year 40 people have been honoured with the Puraskar.
