Karat hurting Indians’ faith: BJP

New Delhi : Joining issues with CPM leader Brinda Karat on the Baba Ramdev controversy, BJP on Wednesday charged her with making a ‘motivated attempt to hurt the faith of Indians in yoga and Ayurveda’.

“It is unfortunate that a senior leader like Karat has charged Baba Ramdev on the basis of a letter from the Health Ministry. But the said communication does not confirm prima facie evidence of animal parts in the medicines produced by the Swami’s Divya Yog Pharmacy, as claimed by her,” party spokesman Prakash Javadekar said.

The BJP leader also circulated copies of Karat’s statement and the Health Ministry letter in support of his argument.

“The anomaly suggest some motivation. It could be a motivated attempt to hurt the faith of Indians in yoga and Ayurveda,” he said.
