Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Saturday said it would seek to counter various charges and “wrong” notions against it through a documentary film being made on the second sarsanghchalak Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar to be screened during his birth centenary year celebrations.

“The documentary will not only counter different charges being levelled against the Sangh but also seek to dispel misgivings and wrong notions about it, besides highlighting Guruji’s (Golwalkar’s) contributions,” RSS spokesman Ram Madhav told reporters at the ‘muhurat’ of the documentary in Bhopal.

“Especially, doubts cast and charges levelled against RSS over Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination and Quit India movement will be cleared and truth presented to the people through the documentary,” he said.

Being directed by Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party Secretary Nitish Bhardwaj, who played Krishna in TV serial `Mahabharat’, the documentary would seek to depict the growth of RSS over the years and different challenges faced by it, he said.

Bhardwaj has also written the script of the documentary.

The documentary, to be dubbed in various languages including English, is likely to be completed by the end of March, he said, adding it would be screened in all states during Golwalkar’s birth centenary year celebrations from February 24, 2006 to February 18, 2007.
