It’s all stage-managed: Dr Swamy
CHENNAI: Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swami has asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi to quit politics altogether in the backdrop of her fake resignation drama stage-managed for the media. In a statement released here on late Friday evening, Dr Swami, a former union minister for Law and Company Affairs pointed out that Sonia Gandhi could not contest any election to the parliament until she resigns from the chairpersonship of five more offices of profit including that of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. ” A leader given to a fit of panic reactions is unfit to lead,” Dr Swamy said in the statement.
The Janata Party president pointed out that with Gandhi resigning her Lok Sabha seat, she has made it morally obligatory for more than 35 Congress MPs who hold offices of profit to resign or alternatively make out that she has no party support.

He also said that immediately after the toppling of the NDA government in April 1999 by the Jayalalithaa led AIADMK, Sonia Gandhi rushed to the President of India to stake her claim. “She blandly told the then presidnet K R Narayanan that she had the support of 272 MPs in the Lok Sabha. She was apprehensive that someone else may become PM,” Dr Swamy who was the main architect of the toppling said.
Dr Swamy also termed Sonia Gandhi’s decision to decline the post of the Prime Minister in 2004 as yet another panic reaction after it became clear to her that she suffered disqualification under the Citizenship Act. â€But the media in the country projected it as an act of
