Indian communists, spokesmen of Maoists in Nepal:Advani
The Former Deputy Prime Minister Mr L K Advani today alleged that the Indian Communists were acting as spokesmen of the Maoists in Nepal.
Reacting on the statements by the Marxist leaders in the Country the former BJP President said “It is clear from these statements that the Indian communists are acting as spokesmen of the Maoists in Nepal, rather than as upholders of India’s national interest in term of the grave threat that Maoism in the Himalayan kingdom poses to our internal security”.
He said “when Prime Minister has termed the naxalites as the biggest threat to India’s internal security, why are the Communists turning a blind eye to the external linkage of this menace? It shows that a key ally of the UPA does not share the assessment of the Prime Minister on the magnitude and gravity of the naxal problem”.Advani also asked the PM and the Congress President Sonia Gandhi to make clear their stand on the CPI and CPI-M, who were “expressing pro-Maoist views”.
“In the light of some leaders of CPI and CPI-M, key partners in the UPA government, expressing pro-Maoists views, Singh and Sonia Gandhi should clarify their positionâ€, Advani told reporters, as his Yatra entered its 14th day. He asked the Union Government to demand marginalisation of Maoists while supporting democracy and process of normalisation in Nepal.
Meanwhile, the Janata Party President, Dr Subramanian Swamy today said that the UPA government was functioning against the interest of the Nation by playing dirty politics on the Nepal issue.
Speaking to media persons in Coimbatore, Dr Swamy said “Fighting terrorism should be the first priority, reviving democracy the second and putting the King in his place should be the lastâ€.
He alleged that the developments in Nepal were part of a conspiracy
against the Hindus.
