Centre’s inaction led to Surya Narayana’s Killing

Yet another Indian, an engineer Suryanarayana, has been slaughtered by Taliban Muslim terrorists in Afghanistan, the second in the series after the murder of Border Road Organisation driver Maniyappan.

The latest abduction and killing of Suryanarayana is a clear manifestation of the Indian government’s negligence in providing adequate protection to the Indians working in Afghanistan for the development of the war torn country.

As usual the Indian officials came out with their rhetoric such as that India would not bow before terrorism. There is no point in reiterating this kind of routine slogans so long as the country remains incapable of protecting the country’s citizens in the foreign land.

Had it been a Muslim or Christian the entire government machinery would swung into action and got them rescued.

Given the situation the Indian workers should withdraw from Afghanistan if the Indian authorities and the host, Afghan government were not able to provide fool-proof security to the Indian workers.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi president Mr J Sisupalan alleged that the central government did not take any serious measures to save Suryanarayana.

Meanwhile the BJP State President, Mr P S Sreedharan Pillai said that the party would organise a ‘Protest day’ today in the state. He alleged that it was the dereliction of duty on the part of the centre resulted in the murder of Suryanarayana
