“Encroached Darga” inviting communal clash
Four persons were killed and twenty injured as violence broke out during the demolition of a encroached dargah in Vadodara on Monday. As violent mobs attacked the police, broke open shops and set vehicles on fire, curfew was imposed in areas under five police stations of the city.
The trouble started when a Vadodara Municipal Commission squad started demolishing the dargah, which authorities said was encroaching on Government land. Fanatic Muslim mobs started attacking the Police.
Mean while State govt. is trying to sort out the issues, the Union Ministry asked a report from the State govt. No similar urgent actions were seen from Union Ministry when Hindus were brutally murdered in Kashmir or when Hindus got Kidnapped and beheaded by Taliban in Afganistan and no condemnation was done by neither Prime Minister of India nor by any Govt.officials, when a century old Temple was demolished in Malaysia few days back.
The demolition was part of the on-going encroachment removal drive. Over 25 temples and properties of top officials had already been demolished during last few days and the officials wonder why such an issue now?
Anyhow Vadodara Municipality is prepared to continue the demolition drive as part of the city development.
