New Delhi: The Minister of State for Home S.Reghupathy tabled the three volume report of the Justice Mukherjee Commission, set by the previous NDA government in 1999 to reveal the mystery over the fate of one of the greatest sons of India,Sunhas Chandra Bose in connection with the air crash in August 1945.

The Commission report was concluded that Bose “is dead”, “he did not not die in the plane crash, as alleged”, “the ashes in the Japanese temple are not of Netaji” and that “in the absence of any clinching evidence a positive answer cannot be given” to the terms of reference. The commission said in the absence of any clinching evidence to prove that “Bhagwanji – Gumnami Baba” was Netaji, the question whether he (Netaji) died in Faizabad (in Uttar Pradesh) on September 16, 1985 as testified by some of the witnesses, need not be answered”.

The views of the Government, which gave no reason for rejection of the findings, were given in an Action Taken Report (ATR) tabled along with the three-volume report of the Commission

The BJP Parliamentary Party Leader said, it was wrong on the part of Government to have rejected the findings with out either giving an extension to the committee or set up another one which can access highly classified documents in the Russian archeive and find out the truth.

By rejecting the findings with no reason, the congress led Indian government has denied the possibilities to reveal the mysterious history of one of the founder leader of the National Congress and the Great Patriot of India.
