Congress leader criticised Lord Ayyappa as anti-woman

BANGALORE: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge has suddenly become a  darling of ‘liberated’ Indian women. The reason: Kharge has openly criticized Lord Ayyappa of being anti-women. As usual, the pseudo-secularlists have remained silent spectators to this vicious call to open the shrine to women.

Kharge belongs to a political party that is ruled by a foreign woman who doesn’t understand the importance the Sabarimala shrine has in South India. From Kharge’s home state alone millions of devotees observe the mandatory penance and come on pilgrimage to Sabarimala.

The Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala has for ages followed this practice of allowing entry for men only. Women have always done their best to ensure the purity of their husbands when entering Sabarimala. By calling for women to enter Sabarimala, we are not going to liberate women. Instead, we would be going against an ancient spiritual practice of the Hindus of South India. Again, not all women are barred from entering the shrine. It is only women between ten and fifty years old.

The Congress leader’s outburst is nothing but an attempt to break down Hindu traditions and rituals to satisfy the so-called liberalists and pseudo-secularists.

It is a shame that the pseudo-secular Hindus who have nothing to say about Kharge’s outrageous statement. They have become eunuchs who can’t fight against an attack on their own culture, religion or country. And to those who call Sabarimala an anti-women haven, ask them to tell the mullahs of thousands of mosques around the country to liberate their women and let them pray alongside the men in the mosques.
