Inspite of threats,Modi adressed Mumbaikars
Mumbai:Narendra Modi addressed here in a well attended public meeting at Shanmukananda hall organised by BJP to protest against the Terrorist attack in the city last Tuesday.
Samajvadi party the secular face of Jehadis in Maharashtra were threatening Modi not to attend the meeting, Samajwadi MP Abu Azmi threatened that 20 crore Muslims would hit the streets if Modi came to the city! Gopinath Munde, former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, strongly objected to the statement of Samajwadi MP Abu Azmi He asked, “What will happen if 80 crore Hindus come out on the streets?â€
Modi requested Central government to re-enact POTA or allow state governments to enact their own Anti Terrorist laws. “If you cannot bring POTA, give the States the power to enact such laws,”
Modi opened his mind that while many of the secular leaders did not have the courage to openly speak against terrorism, they used to pat his back in private for taking a strong stand.
Modi slamed Congress for “compromising” with the terrorists, whether it be the alliance with the Tamil Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu or allegedly taking the covert support of ULFA in Assam or the unanimous resolution seeking the release of Coimbatore blasts accused PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani
He accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of making “contradictory” statements on his confuing attitude on how to tackle terrorism “During his Mumbai visit, Singh blamed a neighbouring country for the blasts and said that the peace talks would not proceed in such an atmosphere,”Then he goes to Russia and says POTA would not be brought back…Are we serious enough for a serious problem like this?”
“More jawans have been killed in such proxy wars than the actual wars the country has fought since Independence,” Modi reminded
“Today, terrorists decide whom to kill, when to kill and how to kill,” Modi said. They should be dealt with in the same manner,”
