8-year-old sexually exploited by employer

ALUVA: An 8-year-old Tamil girl, who was provided shelter in Janaseva Sishubhavan here a couple of days ago, was admitted to the Government Hospital on Friday evening when it came to light that she had been exploited sexually by her former employer, Moitheen, of Chavakkad.

The girl was saved from the house of Moitheen on Wednesday and was sent to Sishubhavan following an instruction by the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Ernakulam.

The Sishubhavan staff questioned her when they found the girl going to the toilet frequently.

The girl said that she was handed over to Moitheen, 65 by one Muthuswamy a month ago.

Moitheen also made her do household works and used to torture her.

Circle Inspector M N Ramesh said that the Aluva police had registered a case in this connection and that the case was transferred to the Chavakkad police.
