BJP women’s wing protest against Bukhari’s remark

ACTIVISTS OF the Women’s Wing of Bharatiya Janata Party torched the effigy of Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Maulana Saiyyad Ahmad Bukhari at Maidagin Crossing here on Tuesday to protest the statement of Bukhari on Vande Mataram.


It was observed that the song Vande Mataram had played a significant role in the freedom struggle of India and any objection over it is no less than anti-national.


The demonstrators criticised Bukhari for terming Vande Mataram against the spirit of Shariyat and said that those having objection over Vande Mataram are free to move Pakistan.


The demonstrators also lambasted Union Human Resource and Development Minister, Arjun Singh for declaring recital of Vande Matram as voluntary not mandatory saying that this statement of Arjun Singh was a glaring example of Muslim appeasement.


Besides, Mahanagar President of Women Wing of BJP, Sadhana Vedanti and general secretary, Nirmala Singh Patel along with a number of other activists took out a procession from Nichi Bagh area and torched the effigy at Maidagin Crossing.


The demonstrators also demanded that a case of treason be lodged against Maulana Bukhari.


Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi Region) held a meeting and criticized the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Maulana Saiyyad Bukhari over Vande Matram issue here on Tuesday.


Shiv Kumar Shukla, Dr Anil Tiwari, Anand Singh and Manoj were among others who participated in the meeting and demanded that a case of treason be lodged against Maulana Bukhari.
