Take action against Muslim league and NDF:Ram Madhav

New Delhi, Sep 27: The RSS today sought action against the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) after an inquiry commission’s report that its activists were involved in the 2003 massacre at Marad in Kerala in which nine people were killed.

“The (Joseph P Thomas) commission’s report reveals the nexus between Islamist terrorist groups that have been active in Kerala for some time now and a section of the state’s political establishment, including the Muslim league,” RSS leader Ram Madhav told PTI.

His comments followed Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s announcement that the state government has sought a CBI probe into the Marad incident.

“Based on the findings, action should be initiated against political parties named in it,” Madhav said, citing references to the IUML and the National Development Front in the report that was tabled in the Kerala assembly today. It mentioned that activists from the two organisations were “actively involved” in the planning and execution of the massacre at Marad beach.

Madhav, who recalled that the Sangh Parivar has demanded that the killings be probed by the CBI, also flayed the UPA for giving a ministerial berth to an IUML leader.

“It is unfortunate to see that members of those political parties which have been found to be in collusion with Islamist terrorists are occupying ministerial berts in the government at the Centre,” Madhav said, without naming any one.

His remark was an apparent reference to IUML leader E Ahamed, who is the minister of state for external affairs.

Madhav insisted the commission’s report upheld the Sangh’s contention that Kerala’s coastline has become a “hub of foreign terrorists”.
