Kashmir CM’s attempt to save Afzal

Srinagar: Mohd Afsal who was sentenced to death by the supreme court for his role in parliament attack incident is being saved from the clutches of death by none other than the congress CM of Jammu & Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad. The J & K chief minister is begging for Afzal’s clemency with the PM Manmohan Singh.


 


The supreme court has passed a judgment for conducting Afzal’s death sentence on 20th october. As a result of this verdict there were large-scale violence by the people in J & K. Pointing out to the protests by the people of J & K, Azad is trying to save this deadly terrorist who if kept alive is a big threat to national security.


 


During the congress CM conference at Chandigarh, Ghulam Nabi Azad had a detailed discussion with PM Manmohan Singh regarding Mohd. Afzal’s mercy plea.  Afzal’s plea for clemency was submitted to president by his wife. 


 


Around 30 separatists were arrested by the police for inciting large-scale riots. Hurriyat leader Ali Shah Geelani is under house arrest. The three day violence has now turned into a complete Bandh. Geelani and others were arrested in anticipation when they were planning to visit Afzal’s house in Sompur. The whole political circle in the country were bewildered with CM Azad’s attempt to save the life of a deadly Terrorist like Mohd. Afzal.


 


CM Azad is trying to incite the people of J & K on religious basis and hoping ultimately that Afzal will be pardoned by the President even after committing such heinous attack on the very pillars of democracy.
