“Clemency to Afzal means Terror emergency slapped on India” – Dr. Pravin Togadiya

New Delhi : Speaking against “even thinking” about clemency to Afzal, Dr. Pravin Togadiya, International General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, said, “In 1947 Jinnah and Co. broke India, in 1977 Indra Gandhi slapped cruel emergency of India and now in 2006 the UPA is trying to force ‘Terror emergency” on India by entertaining the clemency application of Afzal. There was no need to even entertain such application when the Hon’ble Supreme Court has given death penalty to Afzal. Suddenly the members of UPA find death penalty outdated. Where was their humanity when Jehadis killed thousands of our Jawans in Kashmir? Where was their heart when 200 people were killed in train blasts in Mumbai? Where was the leading party of West Bengal when a Hindu boy Dhananjay Chaterjee was being hanged in Kolkata?”.

“When it comes to Muslims, these people remember human rights. Security personal who died in Parliament attack have also basic human right to get justice. Thinking of Afzal’s clemency is like TELLING OUR MOTHER “I SAW THAT MAN RAPING YOU, BUT I AM FORGIVING HIM BECAUSE I THINK HE GIVES ME VOTES”. In sovereign India, Indians will never tolerate such brutal humiliation of Mother India”, he said.

The Parliament is attacked by Jehadis, For saving it our Jawans die. But the Congress chief ministers of Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and the J & K ex-chief minister Mr. Farooq Abdullah are advocating for the Jehadi devils that planned the attack. This is not only interfering in and influencing justice, but it is discrimination basis on religion. Why not yet Farooq Abdullah is arrested for threatening that “India will go in flames if Afzal is hanged”. Such high-level government man advocating for Afzal is a slap on Indian tolerance.

As part of VHP’s agitation against the UPA clemency campaign to Afzal, Dr. Togadiya announced “AFZAL KO JOOTE MAARO, FAANSI DO” Abhiyan in all India. On 20^th October, 2006 at 5 p.m Faansi will be given to Afzal in every village and every corner of cities by the people of India. Around 100000 such programs will be organized on 20^th October 2006 as  a part of the campaign. He further said, “When the world is coming together against Jehadi terrorism, the UPA has been appeasing those who planned this attack. The UPA repealed POTO and talked to Pakistan in Havana while hundreds just died in Mumbai and now forcing terror emergency on India by advocating Afzal’s clemency”.
