UPA should quit: BJP
NEW DELHI: The opposition BJP today launched an attack on the UPA government saying that the ruling combine has no right to continue in office after the Congress Working Committee expressed concern over the rise in prices of essential commodities. “UPA government has no right to continue in office after the CWC criticising the price rise. They should quit immediately,” senior BJP leader V K Malhotra told reporters on the sidelines of a programme to pay homage to martyrs on the fifth anniversary of Parliament attack. Government’s economic management last night came in for criticism at the CWC meeting where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said some more measures were in the pipeline to contain inflation. The meeting expressed concern over rising prices and asked the government to take “appropriate steps” to tackle the situation. The meeting saw the Prime Minister telling the top party leadership that while some measures have already been taken to check prices, some were in the pipeline.
