BJP to get absolute majority in UP polls
Lucknow : Describing the success of the BJP in the recently held Mayoral elections and a large turn out at the party’s ‘parivartan’ rally here as an indication of growing mass base of the party, BJP vice president Kalyan Singh said, he was confident that the party would get absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh in the coming Assembly Elections.
Since the BJP has given the responsibility to lead the party in the forthcoming Assembly polls, I take it as a challenge to ensure that party succeeds in restoring its lost glory and come back to power, Singh told reporters here.
Although the party president Rajnath Singh had already announced that the elections will be fought under my leadership, former Deputy Prime Miniser L K Advani also echoed the similar sentiments in the rally last month, he said.
Singh said that if the crowd in the rally and victory of eight out of 12 Mayoral candidates of the party in Nagar Nigams were any indication, the people of the State were poised to bring the BJP back to power.
