NEW DELHI: The RSS leader Ram Madhav flayed the left’s criticism over Rahul Dravid’s visit to its  its suryanamaskar camp in Nagpur .

He told that the presence of Rahul Dravid as a sign of “growing clout” of the Indian culture, and attacked the Left for opposing the sportsman’s endorsement of the activity.

“It is natural for the Left to be jealous of the growing clout of Indian culture as it only gets visitors after being dropped from the team,”

“It’s a fact that suryanamaskar attracts the likes of Rahul Dravid. A day will come when all those criticising such acts will themselves make a beeline for these good activities,” Madhav said.

He accused the Left of ideological bankruptcy, citing reported visits of one of its ministers in West Bengal to Durga puja programmes.

The BJP too slammed the CPI(M) over Dravid’s visit to the yagya . “The Left stand shows that they are opposed to Indian culture and believe in something alien,” party vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
