Lucknow:Anti Sanskrit remarks of Anti Hindu Governor in UP invites protest from student community here.
This Anti Hindu Governor, T.V. Rajeswar dared to show his true colour and his apathy towards Sanskrit during convocation ceremony of the university.
While delivering the presidential address at the university’s 27th convocation, he questioned the relevance of Sanskrit in the modern world .According to him learning Sanskrit is going back to bullock cart age when man is walking on the moon.
Students of Sampurnanand Sanskirt Mahavidhyalaya protested against his remarks. The police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the agitated students, following which five students received minor injuries. Another student, Prem Chand Nag, has been detained by the police for interrogation.
Protesting students, led by former vice-president Sangam Mishra, demanded an apology from the Governor’s side and warned that otherwise they may be forced to stall the functioning of University.
