Vigilant Hindus under HJS thwarts Missionary ploy
Panvel:Panvel: A three day prayer meeting organised by Believers Church in New Panvel area, to convert Hindus by duping them was cancelled after Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and devout Hindus protest. Believers church is spreading misinformation among the Hindus to convert them into Christianity and they had tried to lure people to the prayer meeting and had clamed that praying to Jesus would help them recover from AIDS and cancer. HJS also lodged the complaint with Kalamboli Police against the organization for spreading superstition and misinformation.
A musical event was arranged at Khanda Colony from 5th to 7th March to propagate Christianity. It was being openly announced at this program, ‘Jesus will cure your AIDS, Cancer and other diseases.’ ‘The spiritual worship undertaken by y’all till date has not served any of your purpose.’ ‘Just call out to Jesus one time. He will come to your rescue’, were the statements made to dupe illiterate Hindus present at this meeting.
Illiterate Hindus from neighbouring villages in and around Panvel had been collected and brought to the meeting. After the program held on 5th March was concluded, Hindus residing in and around Khanda colony realised that something was fishy. Accordingly, 100 devout Hindus went to the venue of the meeting on 6th March. Some of them marched towards the stage and took the microphone to address and educate the audience. While addressing the audience, devout Hindus said, ‘Christians have come here to give the message of peace; but all the world wars have started from the European countries. These people are telling y’all that, Jesus will cure you of AIDS; but their Pope died suffering from a disease named Parkkinsons, why did Jesus not save the Pope’s life then? Practise the rituals as prescribed by Hindu Dharma and y’all shall be showered by God’s blessings.’ As a result of this, Hindu spectators from the audience started expressing their opposition to the said meeting.
Apart from the HJS, devout Hindus from various sects and parties had come together to oppose this meeting held by Christians. After the aforesaid event, the entire venue of the meeting echoed with slogans such as ‘Jay Bhavani, Jay Shivaji’, ‘Victory to Sanatan Hindu Dharma’, etc. Before the start of this program, the HJS had lodged a complaint with the Calamboli police stating that such programs result in the spread of superstitions and mislead people. Thus, legal action be initiated against the organisers of such programs.
