DMK’s Panchayat chief of Perambalur arrested for attempted Human Sacrifice.

Kumar, son of Muthuswamy of Elambalur Village near Perambalur is the Panchayat Head of that village. DMK man. He was running a stone crusher on lease but was incurring losses. He sought the advice of an astrologer who said his troubles would be over if he sacrificed a new-born baby, under 30 days old.

Chitra, wife of Thirupathy, also of Elambur village, had given birth to a child and Kumar decided to kidnap the child. On the night of the 5th he lifted the child and attempted to flee with it, but the child woke up and yelled, and the mother started yelling too. In a panic he dropped the child and along with it his cellphone, pen and diary and ran for his life. The evidence has been handed over to the police who have arrested Kumar and are conducting enquiries.
