Why Shipping Ministry refused Underwater Archaeology studies,prior to SSCP?

New Delhi: The UPA Government so far ignored the sentiments and protests of Hindus all over the world against SSCP project.

The only lame excuse from the part of Govt. regarding this is a written reply by Cultural and Tourism Minister Ambika Soni in RajyaSabha.

In the written reply , she justifies the stand of UPA stating

“ there are no archaeological studies that reveal the existence of a Ram Sethu bridge between India and Sri Lanka.”

But she admits  

”However, a NASA satellite picture has shown the existence of a stretch of land bridge in the Palk Strait between the countries”

 
She informed the house that as there are no archaeological studies to confirm the fact, the government was not planning to take any preservation initiative in this direction.

Our sources in Archaeological Society of India reveals that, in the past two times the ASI wrote to the Shipping Ministry that they were ready to explore it but NO REPLY.

“The question is as to why the Govt. of India is not getting the studies on the Sethu made by their Underwater Archaeology wing of the Archaeological Survey of India? No where in the world a project of this kind starts without archaeological investigation conducted first! It is still not too late” told a Senior Archaeologist to HK
