Get ready for polls : BJP asked party workers
NEW DELHI: BJP today asked party workers across the country to get ready for a possible mid-term Lok Sabha elections, irrespective of whether the Left withdraws support to the government or not.
In a clarion call to party MPs at a meeting of the parliamentary party this morning, the leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mr LK Advani, asked party members to go to their constituencies to educate electorate on the finer points of the BJP’s opposition to the Indo-US nuclear deal.
Mr Advani said although it would be difficult to say exactly when the next Lok Sabha elections would take place, “BJP should be ready for itâ€. He said the Vajpayee-led NDA coalition government had been a perfect example of how to run a coalition government at the Centre.
