Affidavit withdrawal not enough, PM & Sonia must apologize : BJP
NEW DELHI : The BJP today stuck to its demand that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi must apologize for the controversial affidavit on Ram Setu, and described the withdrawal as an outcome of Hindu outrage. BJP said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh & Congress President Sonia Gandhi is directly responsible for the affidavit. Due to severe opposition from all corners of the country, Sonia forced to order Law Minister to withdraw the affidavit.
“The withdrawal is no abatement of the seriousness of the issue. We regard this affidavit as a crime, blasphemy. Both the prime minister and the Congress chief owe an apology to the country,” BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar told reporters.
