Bajrang Dal launches drive to protect cows in Orissa
The Bajrang Dal has launched a movement to protect the Goumaata (cows), sacred to the Hindus through the ages. The Dal’s national co-convener Subash Chouhan told news reporters here on Saturday that a rally was held at Hinjili, the constituency of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in which hundreds of people showed their solidarity over the Dal’s demand to stop cow slaughter.
The cow protection movement was launched from Hinjili because a large a number of cows was being transported from this area to other States at frequent intervals for slaughter.
