After Haj Subsidy, They need Baggage Subsidy as well!
Jeddah: Islamic Scholars say “The Hajj makes Muslims feel real importance of life here on earth, and the afterlife, by stripping away all markers of social status, wealth, and pride.â€
We the generous Indians also contribute a portion of our Tax Money, for our Muslim Brothers to conduct this Haj Pilgrimage in the name of “Haj Subsidyâ€- Thinking those who go for Haj will return back as an ideal citizen who strips away all markers of social status, wealth, and pride. But many few know that their prime concern is shopping and not the so called pilgrimage which we give Subsidy!
“Air India has left nearly 130 Haj pilgrims from India stranded at Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah airport after the flight they were scheduled to board took off without them†laments our National Dailies.
The Haji’s who went to Haj by taking Subsidy from our pockets were denied boarding as they were not ready to pay the excess baggage ! Usually if flying by Commercial flights only 20 kg of checked-in luggage and seven kg of hand baggage are allowed, But those going with Haj Subsidy under Govt. of India are getting an added benefit of 45 kg of checked-in luggage and 10 kgs as hand baggage free of cost.Even after this added allowance on baggage they still want the Government to pay for their excess baggage!
