Himachal government lifts ban on holding of RSS shakahs in public places
HAMIRPUR: The Himchal Pradesh government has lifted the ban on holding of RSS shakhas in public places with an immediate effect. This was announced by the chief minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, while addressing a largely attended public meeting here last night.
He said that RSS workers would be allowed to hold their shakahs in public places all over the state from today.
It is worth mentioning here that previous Congress government had imposed this ban and the RSS and its offshoots had strongly opposed the decision of the then Congress government.
The BJP and other RSS organizations have welcomed the decision of the new BJP government led by Prof. Dhumal to allow holding of RSS shakhas in public places. They said that the decision of the previous Congress government to ban the holding of shakhas in public places was wrong and for that it paid heavy price during the recently held vidhan sabha elections in the state.
